Our children are gifts from the creator on loan to us on a daily basis. The primary right, responsibility and for child rearing lies with parents, extended family and the community. Custom Care is temporary and planned with the aim to reuniting the family as soon as possible. Custom Care includes active services to the child, the parents and the custom caregivers.
To maintain a non-political autonomous role, the Custom Care Executive was established, within the existing organization, to ensure that Custom Care policies are adhered to at the local level. The Yellowhead Tribal Services Agency Custom Care Program provides an eligible child with out of home.

- - Holistic Custom Care Home
- - Special needs Custom Care Home
- - Alternatives for Youth Custom Care Home
YTSA Custom Care Strives to:
- - Provide competent and quality care to children in need of alternate care.
- - Provide the services best suited to the child’s needs.
- - Support a reunification of the family, where possible.
- - Support the child to maintain their identity and place within their community
- - Incorporate Alberta Children’s Services Native Placement Priority Guidelines.
Services Provided:
- - Administration and maintenance of Custom Care homes.
- - Approval of Custom Care homes
- - Placement in to Custom Care homes
- - Services in Custom Care homes
- - Training and support to Custom Caregivers
